Hoan Alone explores Milwaukee’s Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, as a frequent site for suicides. This animated documentary shares the stories of Dave, John, and Mary as it explores the issues of the bridge and suicide through the three intimate interviews.

“My goal, in creating this piece,” said Johnson, “is to help raise awareness and help de-stigmatize mental health, depression, and suicide through messages of hope and positive observations.”

In addition to the Milwaukee Short Film Festival, Hoan Alone has also been selected for screening at the following film festivals:

The film has also received Award of Merit Special Mention: Documentary Short at the Impact DOCS Awards international film awards competition.
